Previously, Nature Valley accepted wrappers for donations to the NPCA. Is that still happening?

This year, the program centers on online UPCs instead of wrappers.

Did you decide not to accept wrappers this year because of consumer concerns?

We listened to consumer feedback and decided to move to UPCs because it was a much simpler way for people to participate in the program and contribute to the preservation of America's national parks.

How much money did you raise from wrapper donations?

Our total contribution since the start of this program has been $819,813, including funds from Nature Valley's flat donation and consumer participation.

Is there a cap on the donation amount?

Yes. Nature Valley will donate up to $200,000 to the National Parks Conservation Association from UPC entries. This is in addition to its $300,000 flat donation.

How will the donation money be used?

The National Parks Conservation Association will direct funds from this program toward restoration projects benefitting many of America's national parks, including: Yellowstone National Park, Grand Teton National Park, Joshua Tree National Park, Everglades National Park, Acadia National Park and Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

How did you select these specific projects?

Nature Valley and the National Parks Conservation Association collaborated to identify a variety of national parks across the U.S. critical needs.

How long will this program last?

Consumers can go online to enter UPCs through 11:59 pm CST on December 31, 2012 or until the maximum variable donation of $200,000 is reached.
